Legion's offer of building for Poppy Appeal
THE Royal British Legion has been given use of a building in Boston for this year's Poppy Appeal.
Oldrids has offered the use of Pescod Hall, currently unoccupied, in Pescod Shopping Centre as base for the annual fundraising Poppy Appeal in the run up to Remembrance Sunday.
The RBL has also been given use two flagpoles to highlight the work carried out by the legion in raising money for the relief effort carried out on behalf of serving and ex-forces personnel and their dependents.
Sue Ransome, honorary Poppy Appeal Organiser for Boston, said: "Pescod Hall will be used to raise awareness of our work amongst the kind contributors of Boston and provide a much needed base for our street collectors, many of whom will be glad of a warm dry respite from collecting on the streets in what can be some very bitter conditions."
