Lincoln 0 Halifax 0 - full-time
Lincoln City must negotiate a tricky replay against Halifax Town if they are to keep their FA Cup hopes alive after they were held to a goal-less draw at Sincil Bank this afternoon.
A dire first half was almost ignited by Gareth Seddon's 25-yard strike in the 25th minute which cracked the top of the bar.
-

Liam Hogan then nearly gave Lincoln the lead when he headed against his own bar.
City attempted to up the ante after the break, but it was Halifax who created the better chances.

The best one fell to Jason St Juste who somehow blazed wide at the back post from Lee Gregory's cross.
Lincoln were then reduced to 10 men in the closing stages when David Morgan was sent off for a foul on Ryan Toulson.
The result means the teams must do it all again on Tuesday night at the Shay.

“Eatmygoal:Yes, it has been there for some time now. I have unfortunately had to miss a couple of games, but yes, they have played well in a lot of games. They should have well beaten Tamworth without a doubt - their GK was in great form, perhaps the reason why they are in the position they are in the league. Then the Luton game should have at least got us a point - two daft goals that I am confident won't happen again. There really have been some close results where the team deserved to win. In addition some of the officials have been really dabolical which must effect the players to a certan degree with bad decisions. A lot went unfairly against them at Halifax, but their response was very admirable with closing the opposition down on the ball - it was just great to watch as you put it "click so well". I have said it time and again this squad of guys can beat anybody on the form shown against Halifax, and in other games in the past, they are great bunch , and also from seeing the banter between Colin Larkin they must just keep on closing down and tucking in to win balls early as at Halifax. I do really believe in this squad, and also from seeing the banter betwee Larkin and Oliver when warming was just brilliant to see the closeness there must be in the whole squad.
Come on boys”

“Come on boys.
Just a bit of positive thinking is all we need and we'll soon be back in the big time. Well done Bob and the Board.”

“To be honest I didn't see the game lastnight but I did on Saturday, could it be that we are better playing away than at home as we wasn't that great on Saturday or have we really turned the corner and playing well and things are beginning to run for us now.”

“Do you think then that they have finally improved from early this season? Or do you think they have always been decent and things are just finally "clicking"?”

“No eatmygoal, they were really were outstanding and provided they keep this gameplan they really can show any team in this league the way home. And we must'nt take anything away from any of them, espeially Paul Farman who did'nt stop pushing his defence up the whole game, and its nice to see we have a very able covering runner in young Tommy Miller. This team and thats the whole squad are a pleasure to watch, especially in this form. no steps back boys just keep pushing on .”

“Interesting reading Franky, good to hear what happened. What I heard on the radio back up my thoughts though that it would be difficult for Halifax as a part time side playing so soon after Saturday and without being able to bring in fresh faces like Lincoln. City are on their uppers but still hold some advantages.
As you say though, let's keep it going. 3 games without conceding a goal.”

“Smith was dynamite man but both he and sheridan did well, the whole team worked very hard, closing players down like I have'nt seen much in the past.Hopefully this can continue and nobody will be able to live with them in our league at present.Lets stay positive and keep pushing on.
come on boys.”

“Goalscorers Sheridan 1st half from ground pass turned into box by Smith, he was dynamite they did'nt know how to contend with him. The second goal was another drive from Taylor from twenty yards out, GK did'nt see it for bodies.”
