Entertainment will play a big part in this year's Lincoln Christmas Market with a new stage erected at St Paul in the Bail.
Enhancing the entertainment for 2012 will be a stage set-up at St Paul in the Bail. Local acts dominate the line-up from the Chapterhouse Theatre Company, Boston Grammar School, Bishop Grosseteste University, The Showroom Theatre School, the Salvation Army Band and the Newlife Choir.
The Showroom Theatre School is made up of young people aged between eight and 16-years-old from Lincoln. They will be performing 20 minute snippets of their first ever Christmas concert, Super Sleigh Ride.

Youth Worker at The Showroom, Abigail Wright said: "The show is set in Santa's workshop, whilst all the elves are busy making toys, one big elf notices the crowd and they decide to tell the story of Christmas.
"The first half tells the traditional story and then the second shows Christmas from across the world with songs from places such as Spain and Australia.
"They'll be singing an Australian 'Twelve Days of Christmas' with a Kookaburra up a Gum Tree."
The extended route at this year's market makes Lincoln Cathedral a focal point and a stage has been set-up within the building for concerts, choirs and carol services.
Rooftop tours are also being run at regular intervals at £3 per person with an age restriction of 14-years-old and above. The building is open to all, offering a place to warm-up with hot food and drink from the Refractory.
EXCHEQUERGATE

Authentic German dance troupe, Boston Grammar School Schuhplattler Gruppe will then perform their show that has been in TV appearances such as Blue Peter, Let Me Entertain You and Britain’s Got Talent.
The Da Capo Singers will feature on Friday at 6:30pm and 9pm and again on Saturday at 10am and 2pm.

“As a regular local visitor I can confidently state that this has been the worst organised Christmas Market ever. The alleged improved one way system is a marathon and I would question whether it contravenes disability access laws. It is certainly not age friendly forcing pedestrians down a route march where stalls were conspicuous by their absence and a lack of interest from stewards who simply appeared not wanting to be there. Security wise it is also the least number of police I have seen on duty. The cuts will be blamed for that!!! The whole event lacked spirit probably due to stall holders not being in prime positions. There were also some distinct "missing's" this year unless I missed them where were the famous roast beef baps? It was either the Rotarians or the Lions that used to produce them.
So Lincoln City Council get back to the drawing board and even better get back to basics. Stop being greedy by trying to attract even more people every year. Also before you think I am speaking alone both visitors and stall holders could be heard grumbling last night.
An own goal by Lincoln I'm afraid and I do NOT recommend a visit to the 2012 event.”
