Lincoln Christmas Market: Weather forecast (UPDATE)

Weather forecasts ahead of this year's Lincoln Christmas Market show a chance of rain showers tonight and tomorrow but a slight easing of the recent freezing temperatures at the weekend.

The Lincoln Christmas Market opens today and there is a chance of rain into the late afternoon and early evening.

Although still cold, with the temperature expected to be around 2C for most of the day, slightly warmer highs of 4C are expected for the rest of the four-day event.

Visitors on Friday can expect a stronger wind, peaking at 20mph, moving in for the evening. A chance of showers throughout the day will make warm, sensible clothing a necessity.

Saturday looks to be the clearest day for the Christmas market being dry, with the sun fighting through light clouds.

Further showers are likely on Sunday but there looks to be little chance of snow causing any trouble at the 2012 Lincoln Christmas Market.

Portable flooring has already been put in place today, to cover the grass areas of the market within Lincoln Castle and with the majority of stalls undercover the possible level of rain expected should not cause major problems.
