Lincoln City 1 Walsall 1 - full-time
A late goal by George Bowerman denied Lincoln City from causing an upset in their FA Cup first round clash against Walsall this afternoon.
Bowerman headed in from close range with just four minutes left as Lincoln failed to deal with a long throw into the box.

Imps boss David Holdsworth will feel hard done to having seen his side bossed large parts of the contest having taken the lead through Jamie Taylor's wonderful lob in the first half.
Alan Power also hit the bar as Adam Smith, Peter Gilbert and Taylor forced goalkeeper David Grof into good saves.

“Since GB joined DH on the bench the team even warms up differently. I have watched the squad train on a few occasions and have not noticed GB in the past. His input seems to coincide with the team not playing hoofball. I am sure it is not coincidence.”

“Yeah that is the only difference WhistlingD, he just sits there silently on the bench reading a book and thinking about what to have while watching X Factor in the evening. He has no input into anything before, after, or during the game.
Oh hang on, it is a completely different role to the one he was performing before.”

“Grant Brown has been with the first team on the training ground since pre season training. The only change is he is sat on the bench in games!”

“Spilsby, I'm not bashing anybody all I am saying is that since Grant Brown has been involved with the the first team they have improved to a standard that warrants credit.
I am certainly not criticizing David Holdsworth because he has brought in very good players.
Having said that someone had to knock them into shape with tack tics and fitness.
And to me that has to be down to Grant Brown.”

“You're correct about Farman not able to do anything about their goal
I was sitting in the Co-op lower tier when they scored and it looked as though the ball went under Farman's body, but after seeing it on the TV it went in wide of Farman giving him little chance of reaching it.
It was probably Gray or Sheridan who failed to mark the scorer having seen it on TV but not quite sure even now.
But if we play like that in the replay no reason why we can't beat then as all their defence was poor including their keeper.
Looking forward to Tuesday's game.”

“nrimp think your comment about Farmans part in their goal is more than harsh to be honest. The goal scorer had a free header, we switched off simple as that I'm afraid nothing Farman could do about it in my opinion.”
