Lincoln City Chris Sutton is frustrated by financial restrictions
Chris Sutton exposed his frustrations at being financially hamstrung in the transfer market yesterday after admitting he feels "shackled" by Lincoln City's cost-cutting measures.
The Premier League title winner confessed the club's willingness not to break their budget was impacting his bid to strengthen his squad that has been depleted again this week.

Yesterday, Delroy Facey returned to Notts County after his loan spell expired, with Sutton confirming he was unsure whether the frontman would return.
Other targets have since filtered onto his radar as he seeks to pep up a forward line that currently consists of Paul Connor, Lenell John-Lewis and Steven Lennon.
But much depends on City releasing funds especially as Sutton still harbours concerns over the strength of his squad that will be tested by Rotherham at Sincil Bank tomorrow.
"Myself and Ian (Pearce) have to look at everything and, at the minute, I don't know what we can do," said Sutton (pictured).
"We do have a budget, and I really don't know how to say this, but the current situation is not down to us.
"But ultimately, it undoubtedly does have an effect on who we can and who we can't bring in to the squad.
"It is not all about money, but at times, being able to spend does help, and I have to say I don't think we've spent an awful lot since we've been in.
"We have been shackled. We were slightly aware of that when we took the job, but maybe not to the extent that it has been.
"My worry is, have we got enough to stay in this division? And I have to say I'm not totally sure."

“Well said Smudger, I am with you on that. Watch us go next season with the new look team, fitter, stronger and much more capable than in the past. Lets face it, if the past had been good enough we wouldn't still be in the fourth division - but you can bet your bottom dollar that its Chris Suttons fault in the eyes of some !!”

“I fir one feel the team is far better now, CS has done exactly as you would expect from a good manager in the present financial crisis, plus the cancelled games revenue.
We will stay up AND I for one look forward to next year with a great deal of optimism”

This guy is unbelievable!! He is still blaming the old regime even though the turnover of players has been unlike anything I've ever seen from any other manager at LCFC. I wish he would just take responsibility for his actions. He clearly knew the restrictions when he took the job and he should stop moaning and make the best of what he has got. Personally I wish he'd get the sack or quit of his own accord.”

“I think the chairman found an old city conference programme saw the size of the attendances and thought BSqP maybe not as bad as I thought. If it was that bad financially hed be trying to preserve our league place.”
