Lincoln City put Josh Gowling on transfer market
Lincoln City have made Josh Gowling available for long-term loan or permanent transfer.
With the start of the season less than a fortnight away, the decision to put Gowling on the transfer market has been made so that manager David Holdsworth can strengthen his squad as much as possible ahead of the new campaign with the budget he has at his disposal.

“I for one will be sad to see him go, as I think he is one of the best players we have. A case of face not fitting I'm afraid.”

“As long as he doesn't sign for Grimsby”

“If it was for budget reasons then surely he would have been made available at the start of the season.
The only time I was impressed with Josh Gowling was when he was on loan to us from Gillingham where he looked commanding in the air and a potentially good signing. Personally I don't think he has the desire and the heart to play in this league.
On the plus side I think Andrew Boyce is a great signing and looking the business in the air, playing with desire and comitment. If Josh does stay he wouldn't get in my side over Boyce, Miller and Hutchinson.
Gowlings wages would be much more useful to the club spent elsewhere just wish this decision was made a month ago and hope some other club takes him off our hands as soon as possible.”

“Thought the most recent "gaff" was that he did not attend the open day and fixture against Trinity because he was at a friends wedding.
Whether he did that with permission or not we will never know, but the fact that "Reg" would not comment on Gowling's absence speaks volumes.”

“On the plus side, pleased to see Hutchison sign on til January, looked good against Gainsbrough”

“I was aware of that but didn't see him being transferred out as he hadn't been at the time, just wondered if there was something more recent that had tipped the gaffers hand.”

“Personally I liked Gowling always gave 100% and I think we might just miss him.
But I would liked to be proved wrong.
But if we do make some money available from his departure then I hope we can get a forward who will score 15 - 20 goals this season.”

“Lincoln-Lad-1 - where have you been the last 2 years then mate? (Big gob on twitter and in the clubs round town if rumours are true). Has always had 'TROUBLE' written across his forehead. Another good decision Mr Holsworth. Gowling will not be missed.”

“Didn't Gowling testify in the Mark McCammon v Gillingham case where he (McCammon) was citing racial victamisation and being unfairly sacked? Court found in favour of McCammon today, maybe thats why Gowling has been put up for loan / transfer perhaps DH has decided he could be a liability /potential trouble maker.”
