Lincoln City attempt to extend Matthew Saunders loan
Lincoln City will attempt to extend Matthew Saunders' loan this week after Chris Sutton hailed the Fulham midfielder's impact on the club's relegation fight.
The playmaker is due to return to the capital after tomorrow's night's clash against Dagenham, but the Imps are set to push for a one-month extension.

Matthew Saunders.
Talks were set to begin today with the Premier League outfit and Sutton is hopeful Saunders will remain at Sincil Bank, where he has become a key figure in recent weeks.
The 20-year-old was in irresistible form on Friday when he scored twice in a 3-1 win against Hereford as the Imps moved 10 points clear of the drop zone.
And Sutton admitted Saunders' contribution has been instrumental during the club's League Two relegation dogfight.
"Matty has done very well for us in the two months he has been here," said Sutton.
"Coming to us has aided his development because he's playing games in a competitive league, but in return he has shown what a good player he is.
"We want to keep him because his contribution has been key to us and we are hoping to keep him for one more month.
"We'll be talking to Fulham and I'm hopeful we will receive the all clear because he certainly does make a difference to our team with his footballing brain.
"He does have an immense about of ability and his performance on Friday demonstrated that."

“Class act, and all we can hope for is he extends to the end of the season -Saunders and Herd are certainly a cut above anything at the club at present.”

“Have to agree with southern imp. He's very comfortable on the ball but at times didn't look interested and didn't want the ball. Me and my dad were both saying this and 3 seconds later he swung his right foot and put a scorcher in the top corner. He's a young lad with the raw technical ability that Sutton is looking for, will just need to focus and show the commitment that most fans expect”

“I do think that when he is at the top of his game, Saunders in a class act, but sorry guys but from where I was sat on Friday, Saunders was completely out of sorts for the last 10-15 minutes of the first half. I'm not disputing the boy has talent and he took his goals exceptionally well, but for those 10 minutes or so his head wasn't in the game. He had no idea at all where the player he was supposed to be marking was for much of that time and that fundamental error led to their goal. I accept he was out of position but he's a professional footballer, not some Sunday League wannabe.
I think the reality is that in a couple of seasons time we will see him on a bigger stage, but I hope that he doesn't show the same long lapses in concentration when we are in a far tougher game than Friday nights! We need our players to be totally focussed and what I saw for those few moments was disinterest from a player who could make a lot of difference to the remaining games this season!”

“"they was saying it's not been in the country since England won it."
In which case "they" was lying.
Just before the last world cup the trophy came to London, as I attended a Coca Cola sponsored event (other sugary, fizzy drinks are available) that included an appearnce with the Cup”

“Great win on Fri,Keith would have been proud and in the words of Paul merson,2 worldies.
Burchey wasn't kidding when he said that Somma had a shot on him, could have took their goalies head off.
As for the world cup,it's not the one England won anyway, they was saying it's not been in the country since England won it. Farcical,it's the last time it will be on English soil for a very long time now.”
