Lincoln City boss Chris Sutton determined to get his strikers on target
Chris Sutton admits "there are not enough hours in the day" to work with his players as he attempts to sharpen Lincoln City's goal-shy attack.
The Imps boss has been feverishly working with his squad over the last week in an attempt to correct the problems up front that have blighted their entire season.
-

New loan signings Nathan Baker, left, and full-back Eric Lichaj who have both joined Lincoln City on load from Aston Villa.
City have scored just nine goals from 13 games this term, with striker Rene Howe responsible for four of them since his loan move from Peterborough in the summer.
Last week's 1-0 defeat at Northampton saw the Imps register just one shot on target with Sutton admitting afterwards that his side needed to be more patient in the final third.
And the former Blackburn star said he is working intensively on the training ground to improve City ahead of tomorrow's clash against Torquay at Sincil Bank.
"There are not enough hours in the day, but we are cramming in everything we can," he said.
"We are fortunate that we do not have any midweek games and the players are doing their best and that's all we can ask.
"There is a long, long, way to go and in the two wins we have had, we have not been hammering sides out of sight. "But saying that, last week against Northampton, we did not get murdered either.
"However, we are well aware that we want to score goals, but on the other side of that, we don't want to concede any either."

“Maybe its because finally some discipline is being installed into the running of team affairs ! Its what we've needed for some time, those who can't handle it will depart i'm sure. I am very happy that we are moving in the right direction. Its about time the players earned their money, this will lead to earning the respect of the fans and in time hopefully they will earn the promotion that we all desire.”

Seems Roses are not all red at the BANK.
This has come from a member of staff.”

“The team that Chris inherited had a losing habit. Job #1 is to break that habit. Initially, its likely to require some ugly wins and scrappy draws. But longer term, I doubt that Chris is going to take the same approach as KA; their pedigrees are opposite. He's probably going to try to build a "footballing" team, but he will only be able to do it when he has the right players, which may not occur til next year. His immediate objective should be to keep clear of the relegation dogfight. If we could finish above half-way (no easy task), it would already show progress over the past 2 years.”

“At least we can now see that Lincoln's goal scoring problems are nothing compared to the literacy problems in Lincolnshire!! (re. Dave, Waddington)”

“I agree with much being said. Build a strong defence initially. And although I agree Howe can not do much without the service.
However because of that, he may not be the right striker for us right now.
Pearce made more of a nuisance of himself in 10 minutes then Howe did in 90. A Yeo, Ainsworth, Sertori etc etc character would suit us better right now than a Howe or Stant type player that needs quality service.
PS Cameron, please do not keep this quote in your archives for longer than 1 week, I may change my mind :)”

“No one can argue that since the arrival of Sutton that the defence has been better organised and can only get better with the last two additions.
Im sure that i am not on my own when i say that I cant wait to see the return of Connors to the attack and the possible debut of Smith on Saturday.
These are exciting times at the Bank just now with actions now replacing words.”

“I wasn't really questioning the sources as got a feeling that post was a troll back when we used to have them, I was saying I am waiting on the striker and hoping that he might have some info on one”
