Lincoln City boss Gary Simpson backing goalkeeper Paul Farman
Lincoln City boss Gary Simpson has backed goalkeeper Paul Farman following the Imps 3-2 defeat at Luton Town in the Skrill Premier.
Lincoln were leading 2-1 when Farman allowed a Luke Guttridge free-kick to slip under him in the second half and bring the Hatters level on 77 minutes.
Farman redeemed himself seconds later when he blocked Mark Cullen’s effort. But he was unable to stop him when he scored the winning goal 10 minutes from time.
“The second goal gave them the impetus. It is a mistake by Farman, but to be fair to the kid he has been terrific this season,” said Simpson.

“You can't legislate for it. Hopefully he will put it to the back of his mind and get on with it.
“We win as a team and we lose as a team. It's not just down to him why we lost the game.
“We know we are in it together - supporters, staff, players, board, everybody. You win as a team and you lose as a team.”
Simpson’s side have a quick turnaround from Saturday’s defeat as they travel to Hereford on Tuesday night.
“We are in good nick,” added Simpson. “At the end of the day, games come thick and fast and I don't mind. I think we are playing well.”
