Lincoln City boss defends rotation policy ahead of Luton Town trip
Gary Simpson has defended his rotation policy and says he will need every member of his squad before this season is out.
The Lincoln City boss takes his side to Skrill Premier rivals Luton Town today, with the Imps hoping to become the first side of the current campaign to beat the Hatters at Kenilworth Road.
During the early stages of this season Simpson has shown he is not afraid to tinker with his starting line-up, instead selecting the players he feels are right for the circumstances.
And with today’s trip to Luton likely to see the City boss adopting the same strategy, Simpson has assured his players they will all be needed during this campaign.

“There will be 50 odd games hopefully so sooner or later I will need them all,” he said.
“There will be suspensions and injuries this season. We have already had two injuries to strikers so it is going to happen, but then people will get their chance and I am going to need them all.”
Simpson maintains he is able to continue the policy due to having the right combination of athleticism and flair within his squad.
"We have some fantastic athletes, people like Tomlinson, Sheridan, Newton, Miller and Nolan,” he said. “That is their strength, you expect that from them.
“It’s the ones that can open a game up or get you a goal that maybe aren’t as athletic if you like.
"But they bring their own quality to the team and it’s getting that happy medium when players are on form, scoring the goals and giving us a performance in the work rate department as well.
“If they are not always doing that, then maybe we would have to go with the athleticism side of things. Again I see them every day so we know who’s on form and who is not on form.”
