Lincoln City boss: I could have sold three players during transfer window

“With the way team selection is not going to improve, and now losing two good players in Bush Thomson, he might as well have sold the so called two/three players.We have a Director in the dugout,surely at another club you would expect him to say something in the boardroom, or the Chairman asking questions of CM & GB. I am a good suporter of the club, but where do we go from here.

Things are looking worse as the days go by. Bush ad Thomson fitted into the team very quickly, which I thnik Dh could have done before they came, but now they are gone/ going where will we be. It wil be interesting to see if he puts out the team that beat Dartford away, I don't think so.

“I may have this all wrong but to me the run of bad luck, ie letting in more goals than we should do is down to the fact that Neil Gardener the goal keeping coach has left the scene.
Neil had a great rapport not only with the goalies but with all the players.”

....Just rewind to what Big Keith did in that first season after admin. He built a squad and made the play off final when we were favourites to go down. He built an honest team that galvanised the fan base. He didn't get everything right but he certainly didn't complain endlessly about lack of funds. That's why he's the legend.

“I can't read any Holdworth interview without rolling my eyes. I don't know if it is him and the strange way that he speaks or if it is the way he is questioned. Sometimes i may agree with his decisions it's just that his logic at least in interview is so far off the mark.

either he believes these are the right players or they are not, that he can get better replacements in for the money received or he can't. That should be his decision criteria.

Jamie Taylor is a goal scorer. Unless he can replace him which he probably can't, he shouldn't sell him. He's made the right decision but then made a strange comment.

Bradley Barraclough hardly ever plays. He's been on loan for part of the season. He's probably on low wages so he's a body we can use particularly when there are injuries and he maybe deserves a chance but I don't think anyone would have been surprised if we sold him to Boston.

1. Does he count Bradley as one of those very good players? If so, why doesn't he give him a chance.
2. We had a good cup run. It ended 8 or 10 games ago and we haven't won since. Can we move on please?
3. The club needs to win some games quickly. (I would have not disagreed had he said this after the Dartford win. Since then we have lurched and we're hovering above instability).
4. Why does he put the point "although those funds haven't gone on players" at the end of the previous sentance. It just looks like he is always looking for excuses.

Final comment. I didn't expect promotion this season. Apparently our budget is equivalent to Woking's. However, they are 6 points better off than us. We might not be able to compete with "moneybags" Luton, Forest Green, Kidderminster etc but Hyde, Braintree, Woking, Gateshead, Tamworth.. I could go on. Mid table didn't ought to be too much to ask.

“DH has had my full support but recent results have shown he is sadly lacking in being able to motivate the players he brought in. Nobody expected City to walk back into league football or even make the play-off's but unless things improve we are heading for BSP North/South next season and part -time football will be here as a result.
Bob and his co-directors appear to be putting their efforts in moving to a new ground but wake up and see what's happening now and after today's results with our match off where we are and start questioning DH on results and not putting out the same old excuses which are wearing very thin.”

“Fandal - I am sure your comments are quite valid (to you) and make you feel a lot better but the reality is that Lincoln City were never going to win the league or even get to the play-offs this season - survival and a mid table place at best is all we can hope for. Holdsworth is doing what he does best - clearing out and trying out other options whilst getting a squad in place for the 2013/14 campaign. Rome wasn't built in a day and I think us fans have to make the best of a bad job and try to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I reckon a majority of the players he has do give 100% both on and off the pitch and it's this team spirit that will see us through and give us strength to build. UTI”

I'm not one of the fans that expected us to walk this league, I'm not that naive. I did however expect him to sign players that would give 100%, and that hasn't happened.

Yes it's great that he's managed to keep hold of JT, but that's about the only good that has been shown so far this year...”
