Lincoln City's Blue Square Bet Premier clash with Wrexham at Sincil Bank will go ahead, despite the recent cold snap.
The game had been plunged into doubt following this week's freezing conditions, but a rise temperature means the match (7.45pm kick-off) is on.

“No it's not about the "youth thing". It's about quality. We are talking about lads who are full time pro's and another lad who has come from a "Sunday League" team, who is only 2 years older, walks straight into the team, and by the manager's own admission, a gamble. I find it strange that you would take a gamble on a player like Jordan, but not on players that the club has nurtured over the years.
The reason managers of clubs in Lincoln's predicament won't go with youth, is, so we are told "experience" or rather the lack of it. So what "experience" can Jordan possibly have, that Cobb and Cunningham don't?
In your view, a player that has only ever been playing "Sunday League", trains at best twice a week for a couple of hours,is more "experienced" and subsequently, a better option to go with, over players that have come through the ranks, that are full time pro's?
So why have a youth system Eatmygoal?. When will you ever give them a chance?
With regards to me giving Jordan two games to prove himself, and the others without seeing them, I have not mentioned the other players, I have only focused on Jordan, who for me, is clearly some way short of being good enough.
Talking of making judgements on players, I just wonder how many games the current manager watched Cobb and Cunningham play, before he decided to bring Jordan in?
As for your last sentence, all I'll say to that is, Ditto!”

“Ah it is back to the youth thing which takes us back to your lad I guess. Which is why you are giving Jordan two games to prove himself and lads you have not yet seen no games. We were a professional side when we got Yeo, Wilis etc. I thought you were a reasonable person on here but seems I might have been wrong.”

“Whether the "gaffer" told him which way to go or not, he still has to make the save Franky, fact!”

“Nigel: I agree wholeheartedly with what you say about our younger players who cold do a good job for us, Cobb and Cunningham, who were outstanding in the U18 side, I was fighig Cunningham's corner some months ago when he was farmed out, the club can't even be fair to them after giving them Pro CONTRACTS, why do they bother at all, and to add insult to injury Grant Brown brought them through the club, WHAT.

“In answer to our GK is he makes to many mistakes, and in any case if you listened to the comments of GS after the game on radio Lincs, the 3 points gained on Sat, were down to his trip to Southport in the week, they fortunately had a penalty, so GS was abe to tell Farman which way to go when they visited us. FACT.Sorry Nigel its beyond his sell by date.

“People remember the saves as well as the mistakes. The difference between the two is its a 'keepers job to make saves. If he does his job but also makes frequent mistakes then questions will be asked just as they are if a striker frequently misses sitters. I wish theirs had on Tuesday!
As you say, each to his/her own! I actually believe that.”

“Macimp can I just say, whether I agree or disagree with anything you, or indeed anyone else posts on here, is immaterial. Healthy debate, with differing opinions, is the very fabric this nation is built on. The only time I get annoyed with posts, is when they are abusive.
The problem where opinions of Farman are concerned, and I think Eatmygoal said this the other day, is that when he does well, like saving the penalty on Saturday, nobody seems to remember them. However, when he makes a mistake, everyone likes to highlight it, and before you know where you are, he is inconsistent.
Now I have seen plenty of strikers wearing Lincoln's colours this season, who have missed "sitters", yet I don't recall the same level of concerns about their consistency.”

“Eatmygoal. Yes I would question the new manager actually, even though he has only been here for a short time, and it would be for this reason.
He is quoted as saying, on the BBC football website, "Jordan is worth a gamble". Ok,fair enough. Now the problem I have with it is this.
Jordan, as far as I'm aware, was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the age of 16 without being offered a scholarship, and to my knowledge, not been involved in the professional game until now.
We have at the club, two lads, (Cobb and Cunningham) who for the last 3 years have been trained and coached everyday by our own coaching staff. So my question would be, why are you taking a gamble on a 21 year old, who has not been involved in full time football, but you are not willing to take a gamble on one of the two lads mentioned.
If I was a director of the club, I certainly would be concerned enough to be asking the question.”

“I realise Nigel won't like what I am about to write but I'm going to write it anyway. Farman is far too inconsistent. It may be that he is the best we have but I hope not. It is true that you can see the sort of mistakes he makes, even in the Premier league, but not always by the same 'keeper.”

“"we now write off players before they kick a ball for us"
And how many games has Jordan played?, Think he has kicked a few balls for us, don't you.
Eatmygoal, we are talking about a "professional football club" here, players playing at that level at the age of 21, will not turn out to be gems mate. NCEL teams don't do much in the way of training/being coached, lucky if they do 2 hours a week etc, not being negative as such, just being realistic. It is a massive gap to bridge.”
