Following a permanent move, he became a regular as Argyle won the Second Division championship, with Gilbert earning the first of his eight Welsh U21 international caps in the process.

His impressive form earned him a six-figure move to Leicester City in 2005 but he was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday before making a permanent move to Hillsborough.

“Well said whistling D lets hope he has a good settling in game and is not judged to harshly by some of the scathing remarks made towards DH when he does something positive for the team in relation to defence. I just wish people would not be like this, as I'm sure some if not all the players read these comments, which does no good whatsoever, they will think what have we got to do to please this lot.Yes I know win games, if thats the case you negatve supporters. 1) get to the games boost the crowd. 2) get behind the team verbally, let them see you are not just there to critisise them.

    come on boys”

“John Nutter is out injured with a hamstring injury and it was obvious that Paul Robson can't play left back so we needed cover quick and credit to the manager, that is exactly what he has done.”
