Lincoln City establish size of new stadium site
Lincoln City's new stadium will be a 12-15 acre site within the city, according to chairman Bob Dorrian.
The Imps supremo has been on fact-finding missions, visiting other new stadiums such as Chesterfield's new ground, and is starting to form a master plan for the club's move away from Sincil Bank.

Moving on: Lincoln City want to leave Sincil Bank
Dorrian reaffirmed the club would be aiming to build a 10,000 seat ground, but revealed that along with other facilities, such as an artificial pitch, car parks and retail outlets, the site would be up to 15 acres.
"It is all still in the development stage, but we are looking for something around a 10,000 seat stadium on a site about 12-15 acres to take into consideration extra facilities," said Dorrian.

"We aim for it to be in the Lincoln city boundary. Our fans are from Lincoln and it should stay in the city and not move out of it."
Dorrian hopes to have a plan ready by the end of the year before starting on the process of trying to secure the funding for it.
He underpinned the need for partnerships to drive the project forward and raise the necessary cash, and believed that the whole project could take up to five years.
"This is a long project, but we have to make a start," said Dorrian.
"We need to get some plans in place so we can begin having conversations with potential partners and move it forward."

“Oh and on point 2, Lincoln is very much a car city. How many business excutives do you know that come in on the bus? How many people go for a night out on the bus? My village has the last bus at 18:15. Train wise, the one a day from London is in the evening. More to the point, what exactly are the facilities they are coming to at Sincil Bank? If a new stadium is built then it can be purpose built. With a previous company I worked for we looked at renting out space for a talk from a buiness leader there and were keen to do business with the local club. However with the best will in the world and hard work from the club the facilities were not big enough or of a similar standard to what was available elsewhere.
For point 3, it is not exactly some secret process, this article is proof of that. People can comment whenever they wish and speak to the fan's representatives on the board and will likely be asked their views in the future.
Point 4 is usual rabid nonsense. Mind you I have seen that word cabal crop up on line with another website used by someone else with a similarly aggressive stance towards the board.”

“The outworker - I will give a precise answer to your question on this site very soon - but I expect it to either be (a) deleted by the Echo moderator, or (b) certain 'people' on this site will deride me and say I've made it up. Interesting that I posted a very poignant piece of information on here a week ago and it was deleted within less than 3 minutes. Getting too close to the truth am I? And guess why 'George Gordon' never posts on here any more?”

“Four points:
1) We already have a 10,000 seater stadium.
2) Any new stadium will generate LESS income for the club, not more. This is because wherever it is based, it will NOT be in easy access of the train/bus station and the City Centre. Improving the facilities at Sincil Bank would generate far more income than building a new stadium that is only accessible to people by car.
3) As a fan of the COMMUNITY Club for well over 50 years, and someone who has pumped much money into the Club over these years, I'd like to thank Bob and the Cabal for consulting us supporters, before making the decision to move (note my irony). Community club? PAH !!!
4) This stadium move is nothing to do with the Club. It's to do with selling valuable land close to the City Centre for development purposes. The only money at stake is the money of the Board of Cabal. I bet they are rubbing their hands at the thought of selling this land for god-damn-awful new-build flats and houses.
WAKE UP LINCOLN CITY SUPPORTERS - YOU ARE BEING CONNED !!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Anyone that cannot see the advantages of a ground move to make the club profitable is missing the point. We are not moving because we need a new ground. We need money.
So It is all about constant revenue streams, and not relying on match day ticket sales.
10,000 is about right too probably.
I just hope wherever it is we can still see the Cathedral looming over one of the stands”

“This ground move has to and will happen. With an opportunity to make cash from land sales and then build a purpose built stadium inc shops and entertainment venues is the way forward. No argument.”
