Lincoln City goalkeeper Paul Farman is the future
David Holdsworth hopes Lincoln City will "look after" sensational young goalkeeper Paul Farman after revealing his delight at his performances.
The Imps chief has been thrilled with his summer signing, who scooped the man of the match award in Tuesday's goalless draw at Mansfield.

Farman's displays have left him top of the Echo's own player of the season competition and he has become a huge hit since joining the club on a free transfer from Gateshead.
As his performances continue to attract attention as well as an England C cap, Holdsworth said the sky is the limit for the 22-year-old.

"Last year, when Joe Anyon was our goalkeeper, he was sent off against Alfreton which forced me to bring Paul in on loan," he said.
"It's fair to say nobody really knew much about him then, but I think everybody who has seen him play certainly knows about him now.
"For me, I believe he can go as far as he wants to go because he has so many outstanding attributes.
"He's mobile, he's strong, he's agile and not only that he is learning all the time.
"Paul is a very good young goalkeeper and I hope Lincoln City look after him."
Holdsworth will be hoping Farman will be at his inspired best again when the Imps travel to high-flying Wrexham at the weekend.
City are stuck in the bottom four and are two points adrift of Kidderminster in 21st place.
But an encouraging goalless draw at Mansfield on Tuesday has given Holdsworth hope of securing a shock result against the Dragons.
"It is another game against high profile opposition," he said.
"There are huge expectations at Wrexham especially having had such a great season last year.
"I suspect it will not be too dissimilar to last year's game which was tight for large periods, but in the end we lost 2-0.
"But we will make sure the players are light on their feet and ready to compete in what will be a tough game.
"But we go there with good confidence especially after a solid performance against Mansfield."
Meanwhile, head of youth Grant Brown and director Chris Moyses will continue to aid Holdsworth in the dugout after coach Michael Jolley left the club.
"I'd like to thank Michael for his efforts," he said.
"It is nice to have Chris and Grant alongside me and I hope that continues.
"They are passionate about the football club and they are good people.
"It's important to have a settled backroom staff because I've not really had it since being here, so hopefully we can all develop the football club."

“I just think it would be a positive step to lay a few foundations. These 2 players might not be top class but look fairly steady at this level, and I think would be ok in Div 2. The club are re-assuring them and they can look to settle down a bit. Thus building some loyalty and also acting as an incentive to the other players.”

“Having seen many youth team games over the last few seasons, I would suggest that if Farman does attract the attentions of a bigger club, from what I have seen, Draper would easily fill his boots should Farman depart. Potentially Draper can be better than Farman as in my opinion he is just about at the same level now.In fact I would suggest Draper's kicking and distribution is better than Farman's.”

“I'm not suggesting we give new players a long term contract. However if they prove themselves then it makes sense. Supporters like to build an affinity with their team. Building up a relationship with the players they can get behind and applaud. We havent got that at the moment. I think offering these two players an extended contract will be seen as a positive move by the supporters. We lost players last season, that the manager might have liked to keep, to other clubs in the same division never mind bigger teams, because their contracts were up and they were in a situation where they were forced to contemplate their futures.”

“Lincoln seem to well with their keepers really. Goalies like Marriott, Anyon and now Farman seem to develop well and even though we have deteriorated as far a league status goes we do ok with those kind of players. It would be good if Farman was on a 2 year deal as I am sure clubs will come knocking - you never know he may agree to sign an extension with a clause for release in summer 2013 if the right price is offered. As for replacements one can only hope someone like Turner or Draper is in good training for a step up - if not it will be another new face but at least we can hope they will turn out to be good.”

Last time we had long term contracts we had people ranting that people should only ever be on 1 year contracts and anything else was ridiculous. The case for the defence of the allegation that "the board" always being wrong and making mistakes, rests my lord.”

“He's a good keeper alright. But no point getting too excited as he's no doubt on a 1 year contract, if he continues this form until the end of the season he'll be off to a bigger team next summer. I'd like to see some pro-active management from the club and persuade him to sign an improved long term contract. He's proven his consistency and has much potential. I'd also like to see Boyce given longer than the 1 season he has at the moment. He's exactly what Lincoln need at the back. Give them both a 3 year deal. We can't keep re-building from scratch each summer. I'd imagine both players would be tempted with the offer of improved job security, and Lincoln's a pretty nice place to make home for a few seasons.”
