Jake Sheridan was sent off against Dartford
Holdsworth was furious with referee Ross Joyce's decision insisting he made a "right hash of it" and claimed video evidence backed up his protests.
A statement on the club website read: "After viewing footage of the incident that led to Jake Sheridan's sending off against Dartford on Saturday, the club have decided to lodge an appeal to the Football Association."

Speaking after the win against Dartford, Holdsworth said: "I would like to appeal Jake's red card, but I don't want to waste the club's money.
"However much I say or insist he is an innocent boy, I don't think the decision will be changed.
"I've seen the incident numerous times and I do not think it's a bad challenge. It upsets me because you have to protect your players."
