Lincoln City look set to end Adam Boyd's exile from professional football as he closed in on a short-term contract at Sincil Bank.

The Echo understands the former Hartlepool forward is close to signing a deal until the New Year having been on trial at the club in the last fortnight.

The move may even be concluded in time for Saturday's home clash against Hereford at Sincil Bank where Lincoln will look to go 10 games unbeaten.

While Boyd was set to join the club, John Nutter has departed after the ex-Gillingham defender joined Woking on loan until January.

Garry Hill has been in the market for a new left-back and has moved for Nutter whose appearances have become limited due to the arrival of Peter Gilbert.

Meanwhile, the Echo understands Lincoln are monitoring Bournemouth's 17-year-old midfielder Aristede Bassele.
