Lincoln City squad getting back to full fitness
Lincoln City boss Gary Simpson has revealed his side are getting close to a clean bill of health.
The Imps had been dogged by two major injury blows early in the campaign when Adi Yussuf injured his hamstring in a pre-season friendly against Boston United and Nick Wright hurt his hamstring in last month's curtain raiser at Sincil Bank against Macclesfield.
Simpson has been gentle with their recovery and refused to rush them back.
However, Yussuf made a five-minute cameo for City at home against Salisbury the previous week and on Saturday, Nick Wright came on as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Barnet.
"We just waiting on Adi Yussuf," said Simpson. "It's been scanned and it is nothing serious. It is a bit of a niggle and we can start building him up again.
"Hopefully, in a week or so he will feel a lot better and have a lot more confidence in it.
"Wright had a bit of time against Barnet and did some running after the game, so he's coming back now. Ben Tomlinson has had a full week's worth of training under him."
Lincoln City are due back in action tonight when they take on Southport at Sincil Bank in the Skrill Premier (7.45pm).
