Lincoln City star Tom Miller shows no fear over facing former Ajax star Edgar Davids
Lincoln City's Tom Miller says he's relishing the prospect of facing Barnet player/manager Edgar Davids.
While the 23-year-old defender has every respect for the former dutch international, he has no fears over facing the 40-year-old when the Imps travel to North London on Saturday.
"What a player he was," said Miller. "I loved him as a kid, so it would be great to meet him. But we have to go there and play a football match at the end of the day, it’s not just about him."
Davids has yet to feature in the Barnet line-up this season, however former Rangers man Miller believes his City team-mates would have no problem if Davids were to line up against them at the Hive Stadium.
"I don’t think I have come across too many players who were at the level that he was at," Miller added. "I think when they come down to this level their enthusiasm for the game probably drops a little bit and their legs have probably gone a bit as well.
"I thought Andy Morrell for Wrexham, who has played at a decent level, showed real quality, but again his legs have gone a bit, but I suppose a lot of those players come down to this level for a reason.
"They can’t hack it at the highest level, but you still have to respect them because they have had great careers. It brings a little bit of excitement when you are playing against someone you probably watched on TV as a kid."
