Lincoln City striker Ben Tomlinson also caught out by referee at Hyde
Ben Tomlinson admitted he missed Lincoln City’s third goal in their 3-0 win over Hyde FC at Sincil Bank as he had been distracted by the referee.
The Imps forward was not the only one caught out by the actions of referee Wayne Barratt who is alleged to have called the game to a brief stop on 89 minutes.
The entire Hyde defence ground to a halt just before Alan Power whipped in a corner to be headed in by Bohan Dixon.
The referee then gave the goal, much to the frustration of the Hyde players who gathered around the referee to press their case.

And even Tomlinson said he got caught out.
“The referee has turned around and said ‘woah-woah’,” said Tomlinson.
“I’ve completely turned around away from goal and looked at him. I olny realised that we had scored when all the crowd had cheered.
“So, he did shout ‘woah-woah’, and that was at 2-0 and I turn round and it’s 3-0. So the referee might be at fault for that one.
“It’s one of those things. You take it if it happens for you. It happens to us you have to take it with a pinch of salt. The game was already dead by that point.”
