“Can we let our women's team play instead? At least they know how to string together a pass and score goals.”

“It is now 55 years since the Mighty Imps won their last 6 games to escape relegation from what would now be the Championship. If only the current team could be as impressive as them. I am not confident that they can and for the first time this season really fear the worst.”

“Anyone who reads the Facebook Banter group posts and the savethemightyimps website will know that there is more to this than meets the eye. The headline says this march is "to generate support" (yeah, right) but if the Club have got wise to the Facebook Banter group and thesavethemightyimps website (which I'm sure they have) then I'd suggest there will be plenty of extra stewards guarding the front of the Echo stand (Directors Box) on Saturday.
Hopefully it will snow so heavily that the game is cancelled and I'll have an excuse to stay in bed, rather than endure the omnishambles (both on and off the pitch) that will doubtless occur on Saturday.”

“If they had some spare money they could always have paid a few people to go down to Sincil Bank!
Seriously though I can't see many people wanting to go and watch the Imps probably get beaten again by the bottom team in our league. Nuneaton, who were behind us before we played them last Saturday are now above us having beaten Grimsby Town on Tuesday night. A couple weeks back you'd have bet on Grimsby being promoted and Nuneaton being relagated. Also Barrow were well behind us, now they are level on points and games played. Unless we go on a really good run of wins and a couple of other teams go back to losing personally I think we've had it. And if we are relegated I think that will probably be well on the way to the end for Lincoln City!”

“Reminds me of a joke from years ago; 'rival fan comes to watch his team play against City, stops a local on the High Street and asks where the ground is. Local tells him to just follow the crowd - and he ends up in Woolworths'.
This isn't being disrespectful to the supporters who are undertaking this march and I wish them 'all the best'. I will, however, bet my bottom dollar that none of the board will be leading them - and they should be but, let's face it, their interests lie in the ground NOT the football team and the sooner LCFC dies the death the better for them. Administration will be a godsend. They've all made sure that their money in the club is at arms length and wont be touchable.
The board cannot fail with the appointment of GS - if they go down they will just say to the fans 'well you wanted him, we listened to you' and if by some unfortunate (for them) miracle they do stay up then the kudos will be theirs for 'a shrewd appointment'.
The fans may be up for it on Saturday and even if the ground is full to capacity, the outcome of the match will still depend on the capabilities of the playing staff and management - and these are highly dubious (in any other industry they could be reported under the Trades Description Act).
I hope for the fans sake that Saturday is a success - but I'm not holding my breath.”
