Lincoln launched their Blue Bet Square Premier Division campaign with a 1-0 home win over Kidderminster thanks to Jamie Taylor's first-half winner.

Taylor finished in style from the edge of the penalty area in the 39th minute, but the Imps were indebted to goalkeeper Paul Farman, who pulled off several outstanding saves to deny Kidderminster a point.

Imps striker Rob Duffy fired spectacularly over the crossbar and Taylor was wide with an earlier effort before firing his side ahead.

Midfielder Danny Gray found Taylor with a raking pass on the edge of the area and the home forward dispatched a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Kidderminster midfielder Keith Briggs headed over before the interval and the visitors created several chances in the second half.

Visiting defender Ryan Austin's thunderbolt was brilliantly saved by Farman, who also denied Kidderminster substitute Marvin Johnson in the 79th minute.

“Can't see what all the fuss is about re Duffy/Boyce, It showed passion and for years fans have been saying that's what we want to see.”

“I might be wrong on this, but from where I was sitting the Boyce/Duffy situation seemed more to do with a careless defensive error rather than 'laziness'. The two players were clearly making-up and smiling at each other as they went off the field at half-time, so hopefully there's no long-term damage done. I do think this could be seen as an example of 'passion', something we've lacked at Sincil Bank (sorry 12th Imp Stadium) for the last five years.”

    “Hi Nigel
I'll give him that about midfielder but where did he get Taylor firing into the bottom corner from.
The ball did land in the bottom corner but noway was it fired into it, lobbed yes.
But who cares as long as it goes into the opposing teams net.
Also let's hope DH doesn't decide to go on the defensive at Cambridge to early in the second half on Tuesday night as he did on Saturday as it made Kidderminster look better than they were.
Another 3pts on Tuesday night would be great even 1pt would be nice.”

“Sweepc lean to be fair to the reporter, I believe Danny Gray is in fact a midfielder that was filling in at right back due to injuries.”

“With regards to Boyce arguing with Duffy I think he just found out how lazy Duffy can and will be unless he gets a rocket every now and then. I don't expect him to feature very heavily in the future unless he has changed dramatically since his Mansfield and Grimsby days. Just saying!”

“Agreed Niglel but I think of Framce 2010 when they didn't get out of group stages and the same with Holland in Euro 2012. The latter were particularly disappointing as I lost money on them!”

“My comment was a little tongue in cheek mac. England have only been to one final ever, and that was the best part of 50 years ago. My point is that France and Holland are notorious for their squabbling amongst themselves, yet they have had more success than England. Holland have been to 3 world cup finals and won the Euros, France have won the world cup and 2 euros in the same time.”

“Nigel I don't follow your logic. Under-achieving is under-achieving at any level. England achieve what they achieve because they are not good enough to achieve higher. If they start falling out and under-achieve, their performance will drop. Team work and in-team squabbling do not go together.”

“Hmmmm under performance of France and Holland! Perhaps England ought to start squabbling amongst themselves, then maybe we can "under achieve"to the same levels!”
