Lincoln City vs Mansfield: Stags late to the party
Mansfield left it late for the second game running as Matt Green struck the winner in the 1-0 victory over managerless Lincoln.
Lindon Meikle scored in the dying moments to beat Luton at the weekend and Green repeated the trick to see off an Imps side who have now won just one of their last 12 games.

The home side went within inches of breaking the deadlock early on when Mamadou Fofana got to the byline and pulled back for Alan Power, who steered a drive narrowly wide.
In the second half John Dempster stabbed goalwards from James Jennings' free-kick but Paul Farman saved well down low.

But just as it seemed the Stags missed their chance to move into the play-off places, Green pounced.
Meikle won a header and Green got on the end of the knockdown to poke the ball home from close range in the stoppage-time.
The Imps' evening was rounded off with Daniel Gray being shown a red card for violent conduct just before the final whistle.

“I actually quite enjoyed last night's game despite the result. In fact any sane fan could have predicted the outcome based on the first half performance which could have ended at 4-2 for the Imps after 45 mins. True to form we get clobbered by a 95th minute goal after the game descended into a farcical game of yellow and red cards. Having said that we deserved at least a point and the fact that the Stags fans celebrated their goal like they had just won the FA Cup meant that they were very relieved based on what they had seen from their team for over 90 minutes. We really do need to put our chances away - Marriott was not really troubled. There were at least 6 clear cut chances when we shot but did not hit the target and more when we should have shot but ran it out into unplayable positions. Let's hope Simpson liked what he saw and can find a solution to the goal scoring problems. It's a shame we picked up another red but that is the least of our worries if we don't score goals. At least we went up a place in the league despite losing! UTI”

“Time to get behind Gary and the team and pray that something clicks between them all to get us out of this mess!”

“Totally agree, Alex. Best performance from the Imps for some time. Could easily have scored 4 in the first half. All they need is a win to start rolling. Let's hope it comes on Saturday.”

“Sigh. Aside from the defeat, again, disappointing to pick up another red card.”

“A much better performance against Mansfield but not the result we deserved on the balance of play. We paid the price for not taking our chances in the first half and we never forced Alan Marriott to make a real save.
I said that we needed to wait and see what the reaction of players was over the last two games before making a decision on who the new manager should be and after the last two performances it has shown that whoever comes in has got a good group of players with some skill but needs to get them believing in themselves again, sadly I feel we need to look elsewhere than Grant Brown who may be a good coach but lacks the management skills required to get us out of this mess. So come on Bob and the Board dig deep and try to make amends for your recent failures.”

“So so harsh on the Imps, we were by far the better side, had 6 or 7 good chances but failed to take any and sadly got punished. Played some good stuff at times too, look a very good side when we get it down and play unlike the Stags long balls all the time. Makes you wonder how they score so many goals doing that..?
Defence had a decent game and Farman was MUCH better than saturday.
New manager has some good players to work with and let's hope he can get the best out of a settled team very soon.
Keep the faith, there's still a spark ready to ignite our club into better times.
