TOM GARRICK admitted Moorlands "simply didn't turn up" as they were beaten 4-1 by Thackley.

Having beaten Glapwell 6-0 in the FA Cup the week before, Chris Moyses side could not engineer their first win in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

But the game's defining moment came in the opening 15 minutes when Sean Cann, who later scored, missed a penalty.

Garrick (pictured above) said the game could have been much different had it gone in.

"Maybe the outcome would have been different if we had scored the penalty early on," he said.

"But really we didn't turn up on the day and that was disappointing.

"The manager was not happy and understandably so because we were capable of bringing back a result.

"From my own point of view I was disappointed not to get on the scoresheet.

"But we've got a big game in the FA Cup coming this weekend.

"Hopefully we will be able to put this result behind us and kick on from there."
