Lincoln United boss praises new signings, including Karl Cunningham
Lincoln United head into Saturday’s home fixture against Kidsgrove Athletic in the Evo-Stik Division One (South) on the back of two successive away stalemates.
The Whites drew 2-2 against Rainworth Miners Welfare on Saturday and also played out a 0-0 draw at Gresley Rovers on Monday.
United have made several recent signings in Matt Langham, Karl Cunningham and Nathan Modest.
Dave Frecklington is delighted with the impact these new recruits have made on the squad.
Last Saturday saw Langham, who joined from Loughborough Dynamo, score in the 2-2 draw at Rainworth Miners Welfare in the league.
“I thought Matt Langham was superb,” said Frecklington.
“He led the line as the lone striker. He put himself about and held the ball up well.
“Matt is everything we want in a striker. It’s nice to have someone in the box who sniffs out goals.
“I was delighted with his overall performance for us.”
The United boss also praised his other new additions.
“The other new lads have done really well too,” he said. “Karl Cunningham gives us energy and more retention of the ball in the middle of the park.
“Nathan Modest gives us some pace up top.”
Frecklington continued praising his players as they have now gone two games without defeat.
“We know we have a squad of players we can really trust,” he said. “Without playing brilliantly on Saturday, we dug in and earned a well deserved point.”
Despite a reasonably slow start to the season for the Whites, Frecklington believes that his side have plenty more to offer.
“We need to keep plugging away. It’s been a tough start as we’ve played everyone in the top ten. People haven’t seen the best of us yet.”
