Lincoln trio win at Crufts

Three siblings from Lincoln are celebrating after their team was crowned the Young Kennel Club Flyball Winners at the Crufts Dog Show on Saturday, March 9.

Zoë Tennant, 15, Kieran, 13, and Rebekah, 10, from Newport were part of the Coventry Kids team and they stormed their way to the scoop the junior flyball title.

Joined by their four-legged friends and Coventry brothers Adam and Luke Timbrell, 15 and 13, they saw off the challenge from eight other teams from across England and Scotland.

Flyball is a dog relay race between two teams, where the canine competitors take it in turns to jump over a line of four hurdles to a box, collect a tennis ball and return back over the hurdles – all under the command of their human handlers.

Zoë, who ran her dog Lunar, said: "It was really exciting racing but it was so tiring too.

"We just tried to stay calm and it paid off. I can't believe we won."

And it was a family celebration for the team's dogs too. Border collies Brae and Shimmer are brothers, while Lunar and Thistle are sisters. They were helped to the win by fellow border collie Kayde.
