An inquest into her death was opened on September 11.
A spokesman for Leeds Coroner said: "On the evening of September 7, Miss Kelly met a friend in Leeds and it was their intention to travel to Sheffield.
"They missed their train and decided to remain in Leeds visiting public houses before returning to Miss Kelly's friend's house.
"At around 10pm they headed to Brudenell Social Club where her friend received a call which caused him to leave her for around 30 minutes.
"When he returned they walked to Moorland Road. Whilst walking, Miss Kelly told her friend she had taken an ecstasy tablet.
"They decided to climb a tree about 13 metres in height.
"Miss Kelly slipped and fell to the ground, causing serious injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where her death was announced at 7.50am on September 8."
The provisional cause of death is a severe head injury.
Miss Kelly leaves behind her mum, Paula, elder sister Nicole and younger brother Connor.
