Lincolnshire County Council: We were prepared for weather
Assistant director of highways and transportation, Paul Coathup, said that "nothing happened that we weren't prepared for".
In a statement, he said: "We are one of many agencies that are ready to respond if flooding does take place.
"This weekend, the weather forecast was as expected, and fortunately nothing happened that we weren't prepared for.
"We just had localised surface water flooding in some areas, which led to some roads being closed temporarily and fallen trees being removed.

"Although the multiagency incident room wasn't required, we were in regular contact with the EA and other partners to ensure everyone had the resources they needed and that there were no situations emerging that could affect people's property or safety.
"Unfortunately, today the high river levels have led to several properties being flooded on St Catherine's Grove in the city.
"We're working with our partners to provide support to those who are affected by this."
The Environment Agency this morning issued flood alerts, meaning flooding is possible, for Lincoln watercourses at the River Witham, Sincil Dyke, Great Gowts Drain, Fossdyke Canal, Boultham Drain and Brayford Pool.
Alerts were also put in place at the Fossdyke canal from Torksey Lock to Lincoln and the River Till. Tributaries may also affect Saxilby, Harby, Wigsley, and Skellingthorpe
Warnings for minor watercourses in North Kesteven at Heighington, Dunston, Blankney Becks, Billinghay Skirth and River Slea and tributaries which may have affected affect Dunston, Scopwick, Digby, Ruskington, South Kyme, Sleaford, Ancaster, Wilsford, and Kelby, have been lifted.

“I wonder if this is the same Mr Paul Coathup who promised the local MP that my street lamp would be repaired in November 2011? (The repair being first requested in the summer of that year.) Oh yeah, it's still spluttering away in the rain!”
