Lincolnshire composer's work chosen by BBC for charity EP
A COMPOSER has hit the high notes after his work was chosen by the BBC to feature on a charity EP.
John Mackfall bagged his five minutes of fame after winning a national competition.

The 63-year-old Misterton music producer submitted his original classical music composition – Requiem for a Soldier – to the Oldies Composers competition.
It is supported through Radio 2 – and Mr Mackfall was stunned to find it had made the final four.

The composer, who works from a recording studio behind his home and has produced a number of classical compositions, said he wanted the work on the composition to be productive.
"I don't see the point in anything unless there's a purpose or a reason," he said.
"The main thing is to raise money for the charity and make sure the competition can go ahead next year."
"For me to have a song recorded at the BBC studios in Maida Vale was amazing."
Like all four finalists, his work has been sung by a familiar face; in his case, X Factor finalist Andrea Ryder.
Artists performing other tracks include Anthony Head singing Cry by Marina Florance, boy band FTW singing Loves Forever by Trevor Wiles and Paul Hadler and Clare Teal performing Peace for the Child by Maggie Duffy.
The song was recorded five weeks ago at the BBC Maida Vale studios, home of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and featured involvement from Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and female classical crossover quartet Bond.
Already, Mr Mackfall has rubbed shoulders with the stars at a formal launch party at the BBC Television Centre earlier this month.
He met Sir Terry Wogan, who has been championing the competition.
Mr Mackfall's track is available from iTunes or Charity Goods, with each download counting as a vote in the contest and representing a donation to Barnardo's of around 40p and 50p respectively.
