"I didn't have diabetes or high blood pressure but there's only so long you can go on being as big as I was without having serious health problems.
"I couldn't do anything with my children Adam, 10, and Lilia, 5, like running around or playing out with them.
"When you're that big you're constantly thinking of whether you can go places.
"I was that big I could get stuck in seats. I could not get in an aeroplane to go on holiday because I would need to occupy two seats and that would be embarrassing.
"I'd tried all the different diets over the years but Slimming World is the only one that's suited me. I have not done any exercise but I am more active generally and I do walk more than I used to.
"It took me just over two years to lose the weight but it does not feel like it."
Slimming World encourages slimmers to swap high-fat foods for naturally filling low-fat foods to help people satisfy their appetite and avoid the temptation to over-eat.
People choose their own "Free Foods" like fruit, vegetables, pasta, potatoes, rice, lean meat, fish and eggs, which can be eaten in unlimited amounts.
"You have to think about what you're eating but the food you do eat is good, honest wholesome stuff and you can have some treats," said Mrs Seeley.
"I like the flexibility. If you want a chocolate bar you can have one. If you fancy a glass of wine you have one. I still go out to eat quite a lot.
"I think my mind is going to take a while to catch up. I sometimes think I can't do certain things but then I realise I'm smaller than I was.
"I now have lots more energy and I can do stuff."
Jaycee Parkin, who runs the group, said: "The thing with slimming world is the idea of food optimisation and you can eat what you want. We do encourage people to exercise but you don't have to.
"Sarah's achievement is quite amazing. She still has another stone or so to go but she's done fantastic."

“This woman did an incredible thing in losing so much weight and admitting how much her life had been limited before losing the weight. Pru_Feda what you said was abusive and unnecessary, and the same goes for the 30 people who gave your comments a green tick.”

“Bolshie, where weight is concerned calories is king, its simple maths, men need around 2500 a day, women around 2000 a day,eat more and you gain weight, eat less and you lose weight. It has now been shown in studies that people who exercise often eat more because exercise actually makes you feel hungrier or because they believe that they can eat more when they are exercising or as a treat for doing the exercise,I know from personal experience.I lost 3 stone in 9 months simply from restricting my diet to eating around 1500 calories a day and I could directly link the ammount of calories I didn't eat to the weight loss which in fat is around 3500 calories per pound of fat
Of course if you do enough exercise to counteract eating extra calories you will stay at the same weight, unfortunately that is easier said than done because exercise in itself burns calories at a very slow rate.”

“@Freedom Yes, my glass is always half full, part of my calorie controlled diet. :)”

“Nolies - I think you're wrong when you say 'only calorie control can do that' - best results come from a combination of effects of which calorie control is one. I see your point about exercising beyond your capability and would advise anyone that hasn't exercised in a while, regardless of weight, to take proper advice and work under supervision when they start again. However I firmly believe that physical activity is key to not only losing weight but to preventing it coming back when you lose interest in the latest diet.”

“Congratulations sarah,I know it takes immense self control to change eating habits of a lifetime. shaney2k,whilst I agree that everyone should do some exercise to keep their body healthy it is actually not the answer to losing weight, only calorie control can do that and trying to exercise too much when you are morbidly obese could actually put you at risk of heart attack.First you need to lose the weight safely and only calorie control can do that. Many scientists are coming to the same conclusion.”

“This is not the right message to put across in my opinion. Congratulations on the dieting but she needs to undertake some form of physical activity, in addition to the healthy diet to keep her heart healthy etc.”
