The announcement of Lincolnshire's first Police and Crime Commissioner will be made this evening.

Votes have being collected from districts around the county - with the count set to start early this afternoon.

The four candidates are David Bowles (independent), Richard Davies (Conservative), Paul Gleeson (Labour) and Alan Hardwick (independent).

All district turnout figures have now been confirmed, with Lincolnshire's overall turnout at 15.63%.

    “I for one approve of this low turnout. As a theory democracy sounds very persuasive, until you realise that half of the electorate are, by definition, of average intelligence or below. It's therefore better when the great unwashed stays in to watch Jeremy Kyle and leaves the decision-making to those of us who are actually capable of the job.
