Lincolnshire schools awarded for offering healthy meals
Twelve Lincolnshire schools have been given awards for offering pupils healthy meals.
They were each given the Food for Life Partnership's bronze award at a Doddington Hall ceremony today.

The organisation honoured the schools for "transforming their food culture" and giving children the chance to cook, grow produce and visit farms.
Throughout the day pupils enjoyed a number of activities, including sharing tips of how they had achieved their awards and planting their own fruit.

The schools involved were Bassingham Primary School, Welton St Mary's Church of England Primary School, Birchwood Primary School, North Hykeham All Saints CE Primary School, Chad Varah Primary School, Charles Baines Community Primary School, Digby Primary School, Lincoln Saint Hugh's Catholic Primary School, Lincoln St Faith's Church of England Infant School, Saxilby Primary School, Warren Wood Community School andWashingborough Foundation Primary School.
The scheme has been running in the county for a year.
Ian Howells, head teacher at Bassingham Primary School, said: "Food for Life has been a wonderful stimulus for our school.
"It has broadened our curriculum, enhanced our outdoor education, given a new voice to our pupils and brought some wonderful parents into a very close partnership, genuinely changing our view on food in school."
The Food for Life Partnership programme has been commissioned for a second year by Lincolnshire County Council.
