THE Lincolnshire League Division One championship will be decided tomorrow with current leaders Cherry Willingham knowing a home win over seventh-placed Holton-le-Clay will land them the coveted green pennant.

Second-placed Alford go into their final home match with Hykeham knowing they must win and hope the Cherrymen slip up.

This is also a very important outing for Hykeham, who could yet by dragged into the relegation zone if Nettleham 2nds do well at Scothern tomorrow. For, unlike Hykeham, Nettleham also have a game to play next weekend.

In the Premier Division, Bracebridge Heath 2nds face very a important relegation battle.

Stuart Fraser-Cattanach's third-from-bottom side will also be going all-out for a big points haul when they host second-placed Alkborough.

If Kelsey are to pull away from second-from-bottom place they desperately need to win their game at Horncastle, who are not yet mathematically safe.

Division Two's runner-up spot will be decided tomorrow with Grimsby Town 2nds needing just a point from their home derby with Cleethorpes 4ths to join Messingham 2nds in division one next season.

Market Rasen must hope Grimsby lose heavily and they take the full 20 points available from their home game with Haxey 2nds.

Leaders Messingham 2nds host bottom side Outcasts 2nds.

There will be nothing really at stake in Lincoln where Hartsholme 2nds host Alkborough 2nds, with both teams being comfortable mid-table.

Division Three has issues still to resolve, with Grimsby side Stamford Homes knowing a win at home to Scunthorpe Town 2nds will be enough for promotion.

Having already secured the championship, Keelby can afford to relax at home to Washingborough.

Broughton 2nds, who are second from bottom, have their fate in their own hands when they entertain Cherry Willingham 2nds – the team immediately above them.

Division Four leaders South Kelsey 2nds are at home to Market Rasen 2nds, while second-placed Old Lincolnians host Hykeham 2nds.

Caistor 3rds still have a chance of going up but need to take full points from tomorrow's home match with Keelby 2nds, then hope Old Lincolnians suffer a heavy defeat.

Bottom side Scunthorpe Town 3rds cannot avoid the wooden spoon but can look to finish on a high note in their final fixture at home to mid-table Morton.

Premier Division games start at 12.30pm, matches in all other sections at 1pm.

Sunday also sees the annual northern Lincolnshire charity match, this year helping the cause of diabetes sufferers.

It will be played at Keelby Cricket Club (2pm). Spectators are welcome and any 50-plus players who wish to take part are asked to ring (01652) 655134 or e-mail scoopfisher@aol.com
