TWO community projects in the Boston area are to receive funding from the Big Lottery Fund.

Old Leake Community Centre playing field at Old Leake Village Hall has been awarded £4,500. It is run by a group as a charity who will use the funding to resurface the hall floor which is in disrepair. This will improve the safety of the venue so it is suitable for a variety of community activities.

Charity, Boston and District University of the Third Age, based in Boston, will use funding of £5,189 to purchase IT equipment. This will be used to provide IT training for older members of the group which they will use to keep in touch with friends and family.

Organisations throughout England with an income of £30,000 or less now have the opportunity to apply for repeat and ongoing activities under Awards for All until the end of March 2013. Through this, BIG aims to respond to the many pressures small organisations face with cuts to funding and rising costs. For more information, visit www.awardsforall.org.uk or phone 0845 410 20 30.
