Long jumper Jenny Pacey ready to shine in the Super8 Athletics event in Glasgow
LONG jumper Jenny Pacey has vowed to use her selection for the star-studded Super8 as the perfect springboard for a shot at the Commonwealth Games.
Lincoln-based Pacey, who appeared as Enigma on the TV programme Gladiators, will represent Gateshead for the battle of Britain event in Glasgow on July 7.

The 27-year-old will be captained by 2008 world indoor silver medallist Chris Tomlinson and will share the stage with double world indoor champion Lolo Jones and World Championship bronze medallist Jenny Meadows.
And with her lifetime best still 32 centimetres short of the qualification standard for October's Delhi Games, Pacey is hoping to be inspired by her company in Scotland.
"I think the fact that internationals are competing is good – the Super8's seem to be a step between a normal event and the Grand Prix's so it should be a great experience," said Pacey.
"My aim for the season is just to keep jumping PB's and see what happens after that – there are five competitions between the Super8 and the Commonwealth trials so it's great preparation for that.
"I think any competition you can have is going to be good – the chance to have a decent standard competition in this country doesn't happen that often."
Pacey, who went to Loughborough University, is determined to take a major scalp at the Super8 as she looks to impress British selectors ahead of busy summer of international athletics.
And after a barnstorming start to the season, Pacey knows the stage is set to improve on her lifetime's best performance in Glasgow.
"I've been jumping well, I jumped a new personal best at the Loughborough International so I'm feeling in great form," she added.
"I want to grab the opportunity with both hands and hopefully jump another PB. Hopefully I can go there and perform well."
Super8 is based on a City v City format, the event was piloted in Cardiff in 2009 and will make a long-anticipated return in Glasgow on Wednesday July 7. Tickets are available by visiting www.uka.org.uk/super8 or Ticket Hotline 08000 55 60 56.
