"Lord Coe has become a figurehead for this and, as such, the schools are very fortunate to have him officially open the new Sports Centre and Memorial Pool.

"The Centre gives pupils access to first-class facilities, such as the fitness suite and pool, which will help them enjoy sports at recreational and competitive levels."

The opening event will be a fitting finale to the schools' own Olympic Legacy week, aimed at celebrating the students' many sporting successes as well as the range of sports available.

During Lord Coe's visit there will be a showcase of sport in the centre and surrounding pitches including hockey, tennis, netball, squash, cricket, swimming, fencing, gymnastics, rugby and football.
