Lorry crash closes the A1 in both directions near Grantham
Long delays have been caused on the A1 after a lorry carrying forklift trucks has shed its load.
The HGV collided with the central reservation at Foston near Grantham at around 9.45am on February 12.
The debris is not anticipated to be cleared until the evening with almost one thousand litres of diesel spilled on the road.
Diversions are in place with the road closed between the Winthorpe turn-off in Newark and the A52 junction in Grantham.
The Highways Agency has diverted all traffic via the A52 to Bingham and A46 to rejoin the A1 at Newark and the reverse in the oposite direction.
Police are asking motorists to seek alternative routes where possible as despite the diversion, heavy congestion is causing long delays.
No-one was injured in the incident.
