Louth Urology Department receives £1,500 donation from Lincolnshire county council chairman
LOUTH Hospital’s Urology department has been boosted by a donation of £1,500 from the chairman of Lincolnshire County Council.
Councillor Robert Palmer nominated the unit as the chosen charity for his year of office as a prostate sufferer himself.
The money has been raised by the people of Lincolnshire who have generously donated to the cause.
Cllr Palmer, who believes the excellent service he received saved his life, said: “This is a subject very close to my heart. It has not been easy in these present times of cash shortage but the good people of Lincolnshire have been extremely generous.

“The department at Louth is superb with very efficient and friendly staff and is serving the area with distinction.”
Cllr Palmer has previously supported the Louth unit.
The money from the most recent donation is to be put towards a new couch for the department which will be named the Robert Palmer couch. One of the department’s currently numbered treatment rooms is also to be renamed in recognition of Cllr Palmer’s support.
Clinical nurse specialist, Angie Parton, said: “We are very grateful for this donation, it will make a huge difference.“
