Lucy Rigby backs Labour's childcare plans at party conference
Labour’s Lincoln Parliamentary Candidate Lucy Rigby made a speech to Labour Party Conference yesterday in which she stressed how the party’s planned improvements to childcare would help Lincoln families.
Speaking to the main conference hall in Brighton, she said: "I've spoken to many, many working families in Lincoln who are really struggling with the cost of childcare.
"That's why I was really delighted with our announcement this morning that - under a Labour Government - parents of 3 and 4 year olds will have up to 25 hours free childcare a week."
Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls has announced that under Labour, working parents of three and four-year-old children would get 25 hours’ free childcare a week.

He wants to increase the 15 hours of free care young children currently receive every week and would raise an annual tax on banks by £800m a year to fund the move.
