Mallard pulls in thousands of visitors to Grantham
Record breaking locomotive the Mallard has pulled in thousands of people to Grantham over the weekend.
Its arrival is part of the town's Story of Speed exhibition.
In the first 20 minutes of opening, 800 people crowded in to visit the train.
Grantham station saw almost 4,000 visitors through its gates by 1pm yesterday.
And by the end of the Mallard’s first day, over 7,300 people had trekked to see the engine.
Today has already seen 4,000 people visit the locomotive, with around 1500 in the first hour of opening.
1930’s racing cars, vintage buses and a model railway exhibition also pulled in extra visitors to the town.
