A MAN who is alleged to have made a false allegation to police about being assaulted, has appeared before magistrates at Skegness.

Axel Luke Leeman, 23, formerly of Barnack Estate, Burgh le Marsh, but now living at Scrimshaw Court, Skegness under bail conditions, faces allegations of making a false written statement to police on April 6 with intention to pervert the course of justice.

He also faces allegations that he assaulted an unknown male and also assaulted Robert Daubney and inflicted grievous bodily harm, on August 31 in Skegness.

No pleas were entered and Skegness Magistrates sent Leeman for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on all three charges where he will appear for a preliminary hearing on October 16.
