"The fire service used hoses outside and several, wearing breathing apparatus, went inside.

"An ambulance arrived and took someone away - but because it was backed up to the door I couldn't see if they walked in, or were carried.

"The police took away a lot of items from the house and it looked like a forensics team came last night."

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman confirmed that a man had been rescued from the house and that the fire is being investigated by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue in conjunction with the police.

No one from the fire service was available for comment.
