Lincoln Magistrates' Court heard Allan Matthews told Cheryll Padgett he was considering hanging himself after she refused to start their relationship again.

The court was told Matthews then caused a disturbance at her Market Rasen house the following day by banging on the front and back doors.
A statement from Miss Padgett said: "I was scared. I didn't want to get into a conversation as I knew it would descend into an argument."
Matthews then cut his arm, causing it to bleed.
Miss Padgett continued: "He kept sending text messages saying he was going to kill himself."
Matthews, 38, of Chingford Avenue, Grimsby, was later arrested. He pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order on July 10.
In mitigation, Tim Walker said Matthews became distressed after Miss Padgett refused to let him back in her house for a shower.
He said his client then bought a bottle of vodka.
The case was adjourned until Monday, August 16, to allow the probation service to compile a report before sentencing.
Magistrates told Matthews all sentencing options remained open, including a prison term. He was remanded in custody after having previously broken his bail.
