Maximum temperatures of -4°C in parts of Lincolnshire with more snow forecast
Temperatures only reached -4°C at their maximum in parts of Lincolnshire throughout the day, with an early snow warning in place for the end of the week.
In Scampton, Wainfleet and Coningsby temperatures peaked at -4°C and Cranwell experienced a high of -3.8°C, according to Met Office figures.

These temperatures were all achieved between 2pm and 3pm on January 16.
In the last 24 hours, Scampton has had the coldest maximum temperature and Wainfleet the most rainfall across the East Midlands.

Across Lincolnshire temperatures dropped as low as -7°C and are set to be at least -4°C overnight moving into January 17.
Amber snow warnings are in place throughout the day on Friday, January 18 and then yellow warnings for ice and a chance of snow will remain over the weekend.
