Mental health groups in Sleaford to share £200k funding pot
THREE Sleaford community groups that help people with mental health problems have been awarded a share of a £200,000 funding pot.
A total of 64 Lincolnshire community groups, voluntary and other independent organisations are set to have a share of the £200,000 mental illness prevention fund including North Kesteven's Hill Holt Health, the district's Community Garden Project and Sleaford-based Mental Health Support and Local Group Support.

Paul Jackman, the trust's associate director of strategic partnerships, said: "Both the trust and county council recognise the valuable part many local groups and organisations play in helping support people with mental health problems to enjoy a good quality of life, and how they can often help prevent someone becoming unwell again in the future."
Launched by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Lincolnshire County Council earlier this year, the fund aims to help people aged 18 to 64 years of age, who have lived through a period of mental illness, or those experiencing mental health problems for the first time.

Mr Jackman added: "This fund is intended to assist new and existing groups in being able to continue to offer this vital support and also help people get the right help, at the right time."
A second wave of funding for a share of £375,000 will be open later this year.
Other county-wide groups which enjoyed a share of the money includes Happy Door - Happy Communities, No Wrong Door and Framework Housing Support.
