A MABLETHORPE man has shown his appreciation for LIVES first responders by building a doll's house which is to be raffled off.

Earlier this year, first responder Keith Auvache attended a 999 call to help Joan Collins following a fall in the street and to show his gratitude, her husband Tom said he would build the miniature model.

Not expecting to hear from Tom again, a few days later, Keith received a call to say he would be keeping his promise.

Tom, who is a veteran of the Korean War, has now produced a 1/12th scale model of a bungalow, which has been fully furnished with many functional cupboards and drawers and uses original Korean artwork in the construction of wall pictures.

Keith said: "When he said he'd make a doll's house I didn't think anything would come of it. He has made five or six dolls houses all for charity in the past and it really is fantastic."
