Mini raffle prize
A MABLETHORPE man has shown his appreciation for LIVES first responders by building a doll's house which is to be raffled off.
Earlier this year, first responder Keith Auvache attended a 999 call to help Joan Collins following a fall in the street and to show his gratitude, her husband Tom said he would build the miniature model.
Not expecting to hear from Tom again, a few days later, Keith received a call to say he would be keeping his promise.
Tom, who is a veteran of the Korean War, has now produced a 1/12th scale model of a bungalow, which has been fully furnished with many functional cupboards and drawers and uses original Korean artwork in the construction of wall pictures.
Keith said: "When he said he'd make a doll's house I didn't think anything would come of it. He has made five or six dolls houses all for charity in the past and it really is fantastic."
The doll's house be first prize in a raffle to be held at the Grand Christmas Draw with proceeds helping both the Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe first responder groups.
Raffle tickets are available from local first responders, Lammimans Newsagent and Frank Forman and Sons Ltd or by calling 01507 442840 or 443652.
