But now police say she has been located following a phone call made to her parents. In an earlier call home, she had not revealed her whereabouts.
Detectives said Sara, from Goldsmith Walk, St Giles, was "safe and well".
According to the police, she was located earlier this morning.
Her father Brett Jackson had issued an emotional appeal for her safe return on Friday after she failed to come home.
The schoolgirl had gone missing twice for short periods in the preceding weeks, and was known to be upset following the death of a school teacher.
Police spokesman Debra Tinsley said: "The missing teenager Sara Jackson, who went missing from her home in Lincoln on January 28, was located earlier this morning safe and well.
"Lincolnshire Police would like to thank the media for all their efforts with the appeal for information to assist in finding Sara."
