THE next fundraising event to raise the profile of both churches in Frampton has been announced.

The Model Railway Show has been organised for Sunday, February 24 at Hubberts Bridge Community Centre from 10.30am to 4pm to raise funds and the profile for St Michael's Church and St Mary's Church.

Frampton's St Michael's Church and St Mary's Church are in danger of closing due to dwindling numbers.

And to try and save the churches, a committee has formed in an attempt to attract more people.

Committee members Rex and Val Halgarth organised an event at Blackfriars last month and now their son Glyn has organised this latest event.

Mrs Halgarth said: "There will be model railways, boats, planes, trucks, scalextric, dolls houses, war gaming, fairground and many other models.

"Visitors will be able to meet the experts from local model clubs. There are also interactive models where visitors will be able to have a go. Specialist suppliers of model making materials will be attending to give potential modellers everything they need for their own project.

"This is probably one of the best model shows seen in this area with some amazing models on show and well worth a visit, so please come along and support this event."

The next event planned is Sunday Afternoon Tea with entertainment.

Following on from the success of the Sunday afternoon tea last year, St Michael's hall has been booked for Sunday, March 17.

The New Name singers from Sibsey Church will entertain with a varied repertoire in St Michael's Church at 2.30pm followed by tea in the hall at 4pm.

Tickets are limited and cost £5.50 each.

Call Nell Beeson on 01205 363935 or Val Halgarth on 01205 723579.

All proceeds to The Friends of Frampton Churches Fund.
