Motorists advised to avoid Lincoln's Newark Road and Brant Road at rush hour due to roadworks
Highways officials are re-phasing temporary traffic lights after motorists crawled along Lincoln’s Brant Road this morning.
Lincolnshire County Council spokesman Simon Burgess said: “We're resurfacing Newark Road today and tomorrow, which why the traffic was particularly bad this morning.
“ I'm afraid this is quite a disruptive job but it'll be finished tomorrow. We will fine-tune the phasing of the temporary traffic lights to reduce congestion as much as possible, but I would recommend that people avoid the area at rush hour if they are able to."
The work is part of a £2m scheme to ease congestion in the area.
